This Week

So, as we talked about before, the next 8 games are against the teams directly above us in the standings.
On ESPN 850, Munch says they have to go AT LEAST 6-2 just to stay in the race.
I don’t think they have a chance to go 6-2 against these teams with arguably the most broke [...]

More WWE Type Activity

So, last week Shaun Chacon choke slammed the Astros GM.
Now, Manny Ramirez looked to follow suit.
Over the weekend, he pushed a Red Sox employee because he couldn’t get him the 16 tickets he had requested.

What did Manny say when the guy said he couldn’t get the tickets for him?
"Just do your job."
Sounds like a [...]

Thought This Was "Major League 2"

Remember in "Major League 2" when that Japanese guy climbed on the top of the wall to rob the home run and saved the game?
This guy kind of did it.

Must be a Japanese thing.

Sucky Weekend

What is it about the Reds that makes the Indians suck?  This was a frustrating weekend, no ifs ands or buts about it.  Here are my thoughts:

So when is C.C. gonna get traded?  9 1/2 out and tied with the Royals for last place.  I would’ve bet you $1M if you would’ve told me this [...]

Keep C.C.?

According to the Star Ledger on SI.com’s MLB Truth+Rumors page, the Tribe is making a last attempt to sign C.C. Sabathia:
According to a major-league executive, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was discussing a player not on his team, the Cleveland Indians are making a last-ditch attempt to sign ace C.C. Sabathia [...]

Ace?

This is the headline on cbssportsline.com’s MLB page:
"Indians ace Lee strikes out career-high 11 to earn win No. 11"

It might be a little short sighted, but definitely true.
Way to be a leader CBS!

Maple vs. Ash Bats

There has been a huge debate lately concerning maple bats.  Apparently they split and splinter much easier, which puts players and umpires at risk more than the traditional ash.
Just the other day, an umpire in Kansas City had to leave the game because he was hit with the piece of a maple bat.

I just [...]

Indians 4, Giants 1

Is not getting swept by a terrible NL team an accomplishment?  For the 2008 Cleveland Indians it is!  That’s sad.  Here are my thoughts:

Well, Cliff Lee came through again, pitching a dominant game en route to his 11th victory.  His most impressive statistic is that he is 8-1 after a Tribe loss.
Who would’ve thought [...]

The Onion Does it Again

As everybody knows, I’m a huge fan of "The Onion".  This article is why.
It’s an article of a guy ripping his fantasy baseball team to the media (I fully expect Craig to do this on the paper’s future Browns blog).

Here are a couple of excerpts:
Mark Mendicus, 26-year-old Staples employee and principal owner of the [...]

Sowers Patch Kids

Is it just me, or does Jeremy Sowers look like Seth Meyers from SNL?
You be the judge:

Just picture Sowers Patch Kids with that ratty facial hair he has now, and it’s perfect.
