Today on SI.com, John Heyman has an article about happenings in the Major Leagues, and he touches on the potential of C.C. getting traded.
From what he hears, they’re scouting the Yankees farm system for players they’d like to see. Here’s what he said:
The Indians have begun scouting the Yankees’ system to see if they can find anything to interest them in case they decide to trade C.C. Sabathia. They have told teams they have to get better than the two draft choices they’d get if Sabathia left as a free agent. Sabathia, who’s likely just a rental pitcher (though a great one), is believed to be interested in a "Johan Santana contract.” Good luck there. Sabathia’s a nice kid and he’s lefthanded, but he should get into Johan Santana shape before anyone agrees to give him six years. The Dodgers, Red Sox, Phillies and Cubs also are believed to be interested.
There are gonna be a lot of unhappy people around here when they make this deal, because it doesn’t sound like any household names will be coming to Cleveland.
Be ready for about 3 months of bitching if this kind of deal happens.

Well with all the rumors floating around and Rumors are just that Rumors.
How could a true Indians fan be upset it the Indians trade
CC knowing that he’s not going to sign here.
Like The Trade to the Dodger rumors
CC / Blake / Peralta
For Broxton sloves the 2009 closer problem for the future / Dewitt solves the 3rd baseman problem for the future / Billingley has A plus fast ball 95 and above still needs some polishing but right now as good as Sowers and would solve your 4 or 5 starter next year. and The rumors also say the indians would also get Preston mattingley the son of Don Mattingley former Yankee Preston is a Second baseman at A ball with Pop and does have some speed baseball america says can’t miss Major leaguer here with some POP and possible 5 tool.
I know nobody wants to trade CC but this is the facts he is gone face I trust that Shapiro will make the best possible trade that will give this team the best possibity to win now .
PS Peralta isn’t a Short Stop he can’t make to through across the diamond also ,
And his 11 homers won’t be missed his batting average with runners in scoring position is Horrible . Add all the balls that barely make - it to the outfield just under his glove , that Cabrara would have no problem getting to these all added up to loses in the standings.
Here’s another Rumor CC / Blake / and Jensen Lewis
To the Rays for Evan Longoria / The Indians have asked for the Highly touted Can’t Miss David Price shooting through their system now at AA but the Rays thinks he will be with the club within the next month so they really don’t want to part with him and have said that they would trade the Indians Andy Sonnanstine or Edwin Jackson instead of Price and 2 Prospects thought to be Reid Brignac / Matthew Fields power hitting 1st baseman at A ball about to be moved to AA.

Here is another rumor
Paul Byrd
To the Cubs
For AA 2nd Baseman Tony Thomas
and switch hitting Outfielder Andres Torres at A ball
Also a Casey Blake to the Cubs Rumor
for Marquez Smith 3rd base / Billy Muldowney Pitcher Whip 0.75 / Kevin Kreier Pitcher whip 1.32
all single A prospects.
With all the CC to the Cubs rumors I just don’t see it they do not have the major league or the major league ready guy to be the center piece of a trade to make that happen .
The Phillies are almost in the same boat. After Carlos Carrasco who they don’t want to trade there isn’t enough with out him to even start talking about a CC trade to the Phillies.

The Indians seem to be having a hard time finding a dancing partner for Joe Blow Borowski . A bag of jocks maybe the best they are able to do here , unless they package he in another trade as a throw in . There aren’t very many clubs interested in a Junk Ball closer with an 88mph fast ball .

The Rockies
are said to be interested in CC and Sowers so I perpose a blockbuster.
CC and Sowers
for
Garret Atkins / Jayson Nix / Michael McKenry / Jason Van Kooten / Aneury Rodriguez .
Don’t know why they would be interested in a junk ball pitcher like sowers who fastball tops out at 91 .
But the was reported on the Jim Rome show on monday.

Also reported on the Jim Rome show that the White Sox may lose out on Chone Figgins who now is thought to be the center piece of a possible CC trade with Jared Weaver and a couple of prospects thought to be Brandon Wood triple A 3rd baseman / Nate Sutton 2nd baseman at AA. The indians like Figgins because he can play all 3 outfield positions and all Infield positions.
The trade could be expanded if made because Jim Rome also said that The Angels are also interested in Casey Blake / Jamey Carroll / Johnny Perlata and Rafael Betancourt.
